Village Engagement is the topic for the February 21 Listen Lunch Learn Learn Workshop. This is the third in our ongoing series of workshops to expand the pool of volunteers who work on teams or administrative tasks. This workshop will focus on all the ways mentoring happens, both formal and informal - not just mentor to mentee, but learning from groups, from colleagues, from experts, from friends, etc. We want to broaden our views from the rigid form of just the experienced volunteer handing over duties to the new person. You will have the opportunity to work in small groups as well as ask questions and gather ideas from other villagers. Lunch will be provided. All villagers are welcome - members, volunteers, prospective volunteers. The workshop will be held at the Providence Willamette Falls Community Center, where I-205 and Hwy 99-E meet in downtown Oregon City. Plan to carpool with others from your Village We are asking for RSVPs by February 16, , so lunches can be ordered. When you RSVP, please note in the comment section your Village and if you are vegetarian or have specific dietary limitations.

Join us to hear Portland City Transition staff and a member of the Portland Government Transition Advisory Committee discuss upcoming changes in our city government. Registration is required. Description: In 2022, Portland voters approved a new form of government. This change, effective in 2025, will mean that instead of having a Mayor and four City Councilors running City government, we will elect 12 City Councilors and a Mayor. We will be voting on City Councilors and a Mayor in November 2024 - now is the time to learn about how the new system will operate.
